150 minutes

I spent my minutes reading a NHRA magazine and then the four poems. The were called "Poetry" by Marianne Moore, "Summer" by Lucien Stryk, "We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks, and "Homage to My Hips" by Lucille. Every poem had its own poetry techniques.

In "Homahe to My Hips" it had a lot of enjambments but also showed a lot of repetiveness in the way it started it sentences with they and these. Also I noticed that if you traced the outside of the poem you would notice that it somewhat looked like hips. In the poem "We Real Cool" every sentence then the first two and the last one had an enjambment. Also in each little section  or paragraph there were one pair of rhyming words. In the poem "Poetry" I didn't notice that much except a few enjambments and a few repeating words. In the last poem "Summer" I also didn't notice that much except a few enjambments and I also noticed -- twice in the poem. Also while reading this peom I had to look a few words.

  1. I really like this post because it really shows your knowledge about both the poems and about your outside reading. Also, I think you did well on analyzing these poems. Good job.
